Sep 27th 18 73/ Dear Edward:/ Your letter of the 26th/ inst. came to hand this morning, and/ contents have been carefully noted./ You are at liberty to present with/ my Respects to W Rev Webb & Rev Watkins/ each a copy of the U.G.R.R handed/ gilt. With regard to the papers,/ upon further reflection, I have con/ =cluded that 2 is sufficient – why do/ you withhold the copy designed/ for the Sun? The sooner the papers/ notices the book the better; by all means/ give them circulars when you give them/ the books. By the way I have mailed/ you a bundle of circulars today, and/ will mail you another the for part of/ the week. Had I had an idea that you/ were in need, I would have sent you/ a good lot in your box, as I had room./ Are you doing anything amongst the/ White! Waters is here and I am to have/ an interview with him this afternoon./ Ninety copies sold within the brief/ time you have been in Baltimore is/ doing very well./ Yours affectionately W.S./
