Document Content
Mar 23 1876/ Dear Caddy-/ I have been wanting/ to write you for several days, and/ I have just taken up my pen to per/ form the task./ Of course it will not be Strange/ news to you to hear that our little Willie/ is under the weather; Poor little fellow/ he has but little appetite and appears/ quite mopish. And I am not sure/ but our Heavenly Father means to/ take him under his own immediate/ supervision ere long. Of course we/ love to have our children stay with/ us in this unfriendly and [wretched?]/ world, although I have long since/ been persuaded that He who created/ us knows far better than we. What/ is best for us, and when he takes/ what belongs to him who dares to dispute/ his claim? So, whether we live or/ die if we are his all is well./ Enclosed you will find Ten/ dollars; in accordance with the demand/ contained in Ella's letter./
