Lincoln University July[?]/ Dear [?]/ I suppose you think/ that I am retaliating, as I have not/ answered your letter; but I am not./ I thought that you treated me rather/ strange [Commencement?], but I saw/ that your time was occupied with the/ beaux. of course you could not see me./ I expect you are not sorry/ that your school has closed. What/ class are you in and what do you/ study? Can a scholar enter the school/ in the fall without applying when it clo-/ses? I would like to come but have not decided./ It is very warm here, [where?] are/ you going this summer? I would like/ you to come and spend some time/ with me. I have asked you so often,/ but you have never [come?]. We have/ had a great many cherries and will/ have plenty of blackberries soon./ If you come you will have the/ pleasure of [Blackberrying?] and fishing./ all send their love to you and/ family./ Write soon to yours truly,/ Sweetie./
